PSA: Anchor Xmas Ale

This year's Anchor Xmas Ale is tasty.

No excessively fruity or spicy nonsense, and no residual sweetness. Subtle herby hops on the nose, and a palate that starts out primary and grainy before taking a turn into a rhubarby, medicinal cola/quinine bitterness reminiscent of an Amaro.

Cool stuff.

That's good news, Slaton. I've been consuming them yearly since the late '70s but wasn't particularly enamored of the wassail versions that emerged in the '90s. I'm now looking forward to this year's edition.
