Now that KL himself has cleared up the "Label Issue"

Have others been enjoying the '09 Corcelette? Just opened my first bottle and I am blown away. it's all silk and sap; super verve and lift with plenty of depth and gentle spices. Pretty fresh (grape) flavors but not simple or jammy (of course not). Got a roast chicken warming in the oven (ex. Eataly) and i think they are going to be very nice together with yesterday's pot of Rancho Gordo moro's.

I only bought 6 of these; doubt i'll find out how they age unless they shut down hard pretty quickly.

Haven't had/seen the Corcelette. But the regular Morgon was lovely.

Meanwhile, finished leftovers of the '09 Lapierre Raisins Gaulois tonight - really delicious and a wine I will have to get more of.

I happened to open one for the first time saturday night and felt the same way.

Really? Do you mean the Cte du Py? I don't think I've even seen a straight Morgon from Foillard.

I hope I have time soon to try these wines. Too much travel.

Evenings spent on planes these days are not evenings drinking Foillard. MF TSA theater.

10 years ago it was all about Slanted Door carryout and Chevillon.

Now it's about that little extra dose of X-rays.

The life of an artisan investment banker is no picnic...

Have one '09 Lapierre Raisins Gaulois left. It of the lovely screwcap. Can't bear to see it go.

Well, at least not anymore, per his description.

Am I insane, or were people at one point expressing disappointment over this wine (perhaps not in this vintage)? I have never tried it, but recalling some such reaction, never bit when seeing it in a store.

loved the wine on first tasting, and three or four subsequent occasions. last 2 bottles seemed played out to me. everything was there but the parts had become adversaries and weren't playing nicely.

does this mean I have to tell his doorman "the people are here" ? "the peoples is here" ?

i have experience with this sort of thing.

There is some resemblance.

I thought the '09 Raisins Galoises was pretty solid, but I disliked the '08 and '07 (first vintage I saw IIRC) pretty strongly. I mean, not bad, just boring.

There were at least one or two on this board who shared that sentiment with me, I believe.

The two bottles of '08 I opened were pretty fucked up and ended up in the sink.

The '09 is much better, but still not quite something I found exciting. My sample size is small, however.
