Any interest in reviving the US sparkling wine thread(s)? These are well priced here in Japan, so I grabbed all 3...I apologize in advance for hurting your eyes. Xmas season and parties, with nice-but could give a shit about wine-type people, etc., is my surface excuse. (Extreme poverty is my subterranean excuse.)
These notes are relative to the producer. Beyond this, my agenda is clearly noted I believe.
2002 G Ferrer, RC....lighter on it's feet than the 2000.
2005 G Ferrer, BdB...nicely characteristic for the style.....good cut and length.
NV G Ferrer, BdN....A bit of vin gris added. Slightly pink. Deeper than either of the above. Umami and a touch of ripeness.
Results: (YMMV) For food, the BdB, w/o, the BdN. I just can't get a hard-on for the RC, therefor I cannot achieve what Otto achieved. And that's ok.
