VWR*: Sulfurous

I opened something painfully sulfured the other day, which led me to think, later, cursing the wasted , of the term "sulphurous." Yeah, as used to describe lascivious, sexay ladies. Or else inflamed rhetoric.

Why do we have so much sulphurous action on a board of so little sulfur? I am totally lost. So will go stand in the street in a fur coat and nude nylons.

Hmmm... Sulfurous, beyond its literal meaning, has additional meanings of caustic and heated, the latter of which I suppose can be metaphorically applied to your two examples. Can't say that I've ever heard of a person being referred to as sulfurous, and I'd wonder about a possibly demonic nature should I hear someone so described.

Photos, please.
