Arnot-Roberts Chardonnay Green Island Vineyard 2009- clean ,crisp, even elegant. green apples, nice acidity, pretty delicious but tight and in need of bottle age. at 12.4% this is easy to drink though. nice match with pan roasted veal tenderloin and roasted yukons.

Arnot-Roberts Old Vine White Campagni-Portis Vineyard Sonoma 2009. A blend of Gerwurz, riesling and trousseau gris. Interesting blend. this grew on me as it opened up a bit but like the chard this needs some bottle age. noses of petrol and some type of green or yellow berries, but subtley so.also, get some clay on the nose.i like this and also a nice match to veal and roasted potatos. 13 %, easy to drink.

My first experience with this producer, along with the trousseau, and i like the wines a lot. pricey, but most everything from california worth drinking is pretty much always north of $25.

La Taile Aux Loups Triple Zero Mountlouis petillant NV, Jack Blot- at first whiff i get raw poultry, i know weird, but it smells like unwrapped raw chicken that is not bad but a day or two beyond fresh. this gives way to rain water and white flowers. some minerals and delicious chenin fruit that is a perfect match with smoked salmon and pickled ramps on toasted baguette.

Selbach-Oster "Schmitt" 08/09- Sorry for the abbreviated note but i am going by memory here. pretty sure this was trocken. Amazing. Just flat out fantastic! Best wine I have had all year. Delicious with alaskan halibut with a little butter sauce and shaved brussel sprouts.

Like a sulfur-ish or maybe Clorox smell? I think I can picture what you're describing but have never found it in a wine.
 
mmmm, not really, more that aroma raw meat gives off when you first unwrap it and its not rotten or bad but not completely fresh either.

It must have been '09 Schmitt, since that was offered in both dry and off-dry versions.

that is a smell of reduction.
