Davis Family Vineyards Guyzer Block Russian River Valley Syrah 2007 --
Inky red/black.
Earth, black spices, dark fruits, blueberries.
Earthy and smoky flavors, dark fruits, currants, tar, black pepper, large dimensions, not subtle, quite brooding.
Moderately long finish that's full flavored. [VG-E]

Mark,
I visit Davis Family (in Healdsburg, right across from Holderidge) at least once a year and have found their wines similar in style to ESJ, although not as well executed. Certainly, not the norm for the area.
