An insightful dinner guest brought a present: Jean-Claude Lapalu 2009 Beaujolais-Villages, Cuvee Vieille Vignes.

Just popped. Perfectly nice gamay. It does not have the rooty-earthy-licoricey notes of a Morgon, or the Peter Max-paisley-floral lift of Fleurie, but it is fresh on the sip, substantial in the mid (a bit of tannic grip, berry flavors with some intensity), but doesn't linger too much in the finish (and doesn't change much then, either). Good wine. I think I have a saucissons around here somewhere.

I have started incorporating Sigmar Polke's Polke Dots in my wine reviews. So far, I have heard a lot of positive feedback from Gerhard Richter and others.
 
It appears that we are way behind downunder. I had the 2008 at a restaurant last November and it was very bandaidy. Not nice at all. I had to order another wine that to find something pleasant. Have not seen any from 2009. Hope it's a lot cleaner. Is it a "Natural" wine or ??
 
After an overnight sojourn in the fridge... much the same although the middle has acquired a little aroma of violets and maybe the whole thing is a touch lighter or silkier.

Good with saucisson. Somehow finds enough guts to stand up to meat and fat and salt.
