To celebrate a busy weekend call ending...
2000 Lo Piot Priorat, Francesca Vicent Robert in Gratallops, alc 14.5% 90% Garnacha, 10% Cab Sauvignon, $40: Smoky lardons and wet leaves on the nose with a bit of wood showing..quite resolved on the palate.. I would have guessed 15+ yrs of age...smoky plums with a tiny bit of Cab S jamminess...an interesting vein of minerality..quartz??...no real oak/wood showing on the palate..really at a good place in it's evolution..I can see this getting better for 5+ years
