well, regardless of accent, he nailed how I feel about what the attempts of our former mayor to make the city less car friendly/more bike friendly (a plan I generally support) have done to 15th St., NW, my route home. What was formerly 4 lanes of northbound traffic on which regulars knew to keep to the 25 mph speed limit in order to time the lights, thus keeping traffic moving without speeding, is now, from left to right: 1 bike lane, then a car parking lane, then a left turn only lane (with an arrow light that is often red, despite the complete lack of any competing traffic, bike or otherwise), a lane for traveling north, a right turn only lane (ditto the arrow info), a parking lane, and a bike lane. That's right - 4 drive lanes for cars reduced to one.
