Moules Frites and '08 Les Gras Moutons

The family has already left for the beach and I got a wild hair to try making Moules Frites at home....the mussels were from Maine and were a bit smallish...the recipe called for a little Muscadet and Pernod (I used Absenthe) as well as onions, carrot, thyme, parsley shallot, etc..

2008 Domaine de la Pepiere Muscadet Les Gras Moutons, alc 12%, $16....the wine was bright, lively and exciting....it really brought the food alive and the whole experience was great...I would definitely make this dish again...

Not sure how reliable the Urban Dictionary's etymological analysis is; in any event, this metaphor for people doing abrupt and unexpected things works better with 'hare' than 'hair.' What the hell is a wild hair, anyway :)?

Spoken sentences aren't evidence, since hare and hair are homophones.
 
So, a question: I just picked up a couple of bottles of the 2009 Gras Moutons from Pépière. The label is similar to a photo Otto once posted, except there's no "Cuvée Eden" above the vintage. The word "Eden" is printed vertically along the right side of the back label. Is there only one bottling now, or are there Eden and non-Eden versions? Thanks.
 
I remember reading that there is no longer a Cuvee Eden. I believe Cuvee Eden was sourced from a variety of gneiss vineyards, including Gras Moutons, but once Marc Ollivier was able to purchase a big enough portion of Gras Moutons, he jettisoned his other sources to make a pure Gras Moutons wine.

I think some Gras Moutons bottles were labeled "Cuvee Eden" during the transition...I'm guessing they are finally dropping the label altogether?

Others I'm sure know more.
 
I have found the 2008 Eden to be a lovely wine every time over the year or so I've had it. In fact I had planned for them to last longer, but I think I'm down to two. 2008 Briords as well. I didn't know that they were in ill regard others, but those two have been just great for me.

No such thing as a bad Briords.
