Ionizing radiation causes acute radiation poisoning through the production of hydroxyl radicals in vivo. Any dietary source of antioxidants will help reduce the damage done, but at best it'll save you for the chronic effects of radiation poisoning (somatic mutation, increased incidence of leukemias and certain other cancers). My advice is to avoid ionizing radiation (duh!)
