Wines with dinner

At Soul Flavors tonight:

Thomas-Labaille 2009 Sancerre "Cuvee Buster" - practically as transparent as water, lime and peach, but with a pine-y, root-y intensity that makes it a wonder to consume

Dom. Fourrier 2008 Morey-St-Denis "Clos Solon" - needs an hour of air, almost like a Cote de Beaune wine: bright cherries, lightweight, crisp, pure, startling acidity; but the air also brings it a meaty note that brings it back to Earth

Boasso 2004 Barolo "Gabutti" - on a quick whiff you might think this is a burgundy but it quickly gives you earth and dirt and a gravelly voice; pretty nice for a $40 barolo

Sounds like a BYO dinner by the one price mentioned.

2009 T-L Buster now available locally, not sure if I want to pull the trigger on buying for moi. Naturally, it will be like 8 bottles for the state and when I decide it will be too late.

The Buster is a beautiful wine, more chalky/slatey than the regular but I also love the regular which shows the ripeness of the vintage in a really nice fashion. But as I commented to Jeff that night those of us who bought this back in the day have trouble adjusting to current pricing.
