2007 Chateau d'Oupia, Memoire d' Andre, Minervois, alc 13.5%, $44 off a restaurant list...the nose is wonderful with sous bois and meatiness....the palate is rich and dense and goes on forever....it challenges and changes with each sip...the tannins are mild...it went great with dinner at Rue Cler including a marvelous Gnocchi with Berkeley rib meat (amazing!!)....loved this wine

I'm up in Ashland at the Shakespeare festival so I don't have my price lists with me but I thought that wine was about 9 or 10 bucks wholesale. That's some markup if true.

Indeed...on wine searcher pro it was around $10 yet the price last night was $44 for a 750ml.....funny though...it was so good that I really didn't mind as much

I think Lou has this mixed up with a different wine.

This was a special bottling from Andre Iche's favorite plot of old vine carignan made in his memory by his children after his death.

It just so happens that I have inside knowledge of the landed cost of this wine as well as the mark-up at said restaurant*.

Steve, I can assure you that the wine was priced at no more than twice the wholesale price for this wine.

If you found this specific wine for $10 (it didn't show up on non-pro wine searcher) you should either notify the seller of their pricing error (it comes in 6-packs, not cases, so that could be it) or buy it all. That is at a significant discount to the landed price for this wine (the landed price is the price paid to buy the wine ex-cellar and transport it across the ocean and clear customs with taxes paid).

I think this wine is a monument and I'm glad you enjoyed it with a fine meal.

* For those that don't know, I am in league with the distributor for LDM wines in NC and my brother owns Rue Cler.

Yeah, the only hits I got were European. Thanks sweetie, kiss the twins night-night for me.

The wholesale price is around ~$27 here.

I found one "hit" at $10...I'll share the link if indeed this is real....
I was serious...$44 was very fair for this quality of wine...the food was even better than before...thanks to your bro

Nice. Loving that festival.

Can't drink the water there, though.

Do they still have that lithium spring?

Please do, at $10, I'll buy it all.

Glad the food was to your liking. Thanks fro helping my nephew go to college some day.

Must be a bottling that does not reach the West coast. Lithium springs is now located in Bi Polar Washington DC. I've conquered that malady through a steady diet of Yellow Tail.
We had a great meal and fine bottle of 82 La Conseillante at Sammy's Cowboy Bistro last night.

Funny coincidence! I found myself at a table last night that had one of those on it. It was quite spectacular.
