From bottle, quite closed on Wednesday. Better the next day, but far from its peak, at least at home. I noticed that the wines often taste more up front in the US than over here during the first years...

Open it at least 24 hours before pouring.

I'd do it.

These wines almost never show super closed to me, sort of like Allemand. The 2005 being the exception that proves the rule.

You're absolutely right. Especially when it comes to syrah...
I know pinot or rieisling much better, but didn't find any RSV land for rent...
 
I like 06 quite a bit with stuff coming off the grill, but I can see how it may not be ready for your elaborate easter sunday cooking.

Take the Tremblay's Fuesselottes instead.
