Three New DOCGs

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure there is a great Frascati! There's...

Well, there's...

I mean, there's....

Well, surely there must be one.

I just started importing Casale Marchese, which I think is delicious, but I take your point. Just another demonstration of the political nature of DOCG.

Levi,

Maybe I'm just being contrarian, but I like the wine. This is what it felt like importing good Lambrusco six or seven years ago, bucking the trend.

I'll send you a bottle, if you like. Not tremendous but well worth drinking.

Only if you send us all a bottle.

Aside from avoiding confusing quality with greatness, I find it most useful to consider DOCGs, but also appellations in general, as defining the base level of quality rather than the highest limit.

Wouldn't that be a DOC? Is it possible that you are confusing the concept of DOCG with the idea behind a DOC?
