Apparently I don't drink enough riesling

Last night a famous winedisorder personality showed up to my house with an easter basket full of '89 and '88 Maximin Grunhauser Spatlese (I don't know the specific bottling offhand, as the bottles are at home). Bottles good enough that it added to the vocabulary of sense in my head. I know a lot more about riesling than I did just yesterday morning.

Lucky you, Cory. You got an education that took many of us far longer (and more $$ spent). Of course, I feel similarly whenever I get together with SFJoe and cohort, so I can't complain either.

I proudly include said personality in my cohort (a kinder collective noun than some might choose). He's been buying well for a long time.

Nice. Grunhaus is always good stuff (and it's a shame I don't have more, though these days we're spoiled by the number of quality producers in Germany...)

I've never heard of a WD annual prize handed out as early as April, but Salil may have just locked up the award for excellence in diplomacy.

Yeah, but their '88's and '89's are stellar, as you know.

So none of the elusive, spectacular, older Dönnhoff?

I've had spectacular Dönnhoff on more than one occasion with the same character. Not this stunning, but good enough to not listen to your theories on the subject.

It's your money.

My law school was in Anheuser-Busch Hall. Seriously.

(but for some reason, they would only serve Coors, Miller, of Schlafly for Happy Hour).

Probably why they went bust.
