Wines from Convivio went on sale today

Rami isn't macerated on the skins nor does its elevage involve amphorae, correct?

Not true any longer.

That's why I said that it isn't red.

It depends on what vintage you are talking about.

Really? I didn't know that. Thank you for the information.

I picked up some of the 2001 Palari. It was really good in SF from 750 about 2 1/2 years ago.

Completely rockin', man.

Top stuff.

Is it kind of surprising that no one has asked me for my advice about these wines?

I find it surprising.

maybe because you put the list togethor, we know it's all good?

Some of the pigs are more equal than the others.

I bought 2.5 cases spread between many of the selections to ensure I got pigs of all shapes and sizes. So many good choices....

Well, if you'd care to recommend some exceptionally equal pigs I'm all ears and waiting for them to be turned into silk purses.

And as a follow up to Jay, what do you think of the Benantis? Barrique aged wine composed of international varieties sounds fairly modern.

I bought Molettieri '04 and '05 and Apicella Rosso. Then, I looked at my completely full storage and stopped.

Otherwise, I'd've also bought Pithos, Occhipinti Frappato, Palari, and Outis.

How are the Cos wines? Which one to start with? I've been meaning to get the one with the red/black label (name eludes my pre-caffeinated mind).

i've always preferred the cerasuolo, but would say no to none.

Same here. The Pithos is interesting wine which I'm always happy to drink, but I enjoy the Cerasuolo more.

Yep.

This is a year to year thing.

In one vintage one has the edge, in another the other.

This is wine. It's not supposed to be easy.

The reverse for me, and approx. ditto Arianna: the Cerasuolo is nice but it's the Frappato for me.

Huh? She makes nero d'avola, frappato, and SP68, which is an approximation of Cerasuolo.

Sorry. That was cryptic of me. Clarification: For COS, I like the Cerasuolo but I prefer the Pithos. For Arianna, I like the Cerasuolo but I prefer the Frappato. Thus I said that I am the reverse of Jay (wrt COS) and approx. ditto of myself (wrt Arianna). "Approx." because she doesn't make exactly the same wines as her uncle but my prefs in both cases are "the Cerasuolo is nice but I prefer X".

But she doesn't make a Cerasuolo. Have you been coding Lisp all morning? This is confusing.
