Thanks Steve

...for the recent release of some back vintages of ESJ wines. It allowed me to pick up some birth year wines for my kids. Also, thanks for keeping the prices reasonable.

A quick note: 2004 Bone Jolly Gamay Noir, flat out delicious. In a perfectly mature spot now but probably has a few (several?) years left. This tastes like mature gamay with no "pinot'ing" to my palette. A memorable match with a ramp and pancetta fritatta for dinner last night.

glad they made it to you okay, AND that you enjoyed the '04 Gamay. The newer vintages have been more interesting to me, as the vines have gotten a bit more settled in.

I predict that none of them will end up corked. And as for aging, I'm somewhat less interested in that while these vines are so young. It might be worth factoring in that these are, at the moment, the only Gamay vineyards in California, and I'm the one making all the mistakes.

Steve, having just recently cracked an '09 Bone Jolly after ploughing through our cache of the '08, let me be the first to encourage you to keep on making those "mistakes."

What does it say on the bottle, intuition and blind luck?

And Steve, welcome back to NC!
