I want to thank everyone for their in-depth suggestions.

Very helpful!

It's heartening to know that wine blogging is so popular and pervasive today.

If you haven't already seen it, Keith Levenberg has a fairly new blog Cellarbook. Don't know if his knowledge and writing style are such that you'd enjoy it.

Most wine blogs are agonizingly dull, some are barely literate.

That is the nicest thing anyone has ever said about my blog.

Isn't it time for 31 days of Natural Bullshit? Cory?
i'm doing 31 days of essays by eric texier. i should probably tell him.

Ummmm....Thor didn't write that. There is a website that "translates" web pages in the "voice" of Ghostface Killah (one of the rappers from the group the Wu-Tang Clan).

Here's the NYTimes front page after being translated by the website.

Years ago, I really enjoyed a couple of books about wine by Tom Maresca. I think I learned a lot from them.

I have just learned that he also has a blog, in which he does not shy from controversy, and in which he takes a stick to James Suckling. You may say that JS has received his full dose of obloquy, but I think he has some more coming, and Tom Maresca delivers a good measure here:

Thanks, Yule. I hate him anyway.

Sounds personal. Feel free to hate away.

Although if everyone's personal vendettas led to people leaving the board, it would be a might empty place.

Not as bad as you might have been led to think.

I see. So I am exhibiting "underlying cultural bias" emanating from a "mostly closed intellectual system", in determination of drinkable and toxic qualities of 2000 dV Moose? And what if I am, you got a problem with that?
