That's great news. I really enjoyed speaking with Jules at the Chicago tasting, even before I realized who it was I was speaking with. Since then, I have thought long on his opinions about CM wines and look forward to whatever he may contribute to the blog.

I miss the days when you could walk into Stars and see Herb Caen, the SF Chief of Police, and the top local Madame all dining within a few feet of each other. I think I got into the restaurant business because of stuff like that. Also, meeting Adam West (Batman) at the table was another big reason.

Stars had this great window (like a coat check window) off the dining room where you could go up and taste the wines offered as tasting pours for that day. I'd like to do that up in my next place.

Anyway, sorry I missed the reference first time around.

What a blast from the past. Stars was a great place and probably the first time I can remember ordering a martini and then getting an extra freebie in the little sidecar carafe. Nice touch as I was waiting (and waiting) for a table!
