Need to buy wine for a party in France

We have a friend having her 60th b'day in a small town between Limoges and Periguex. There will be 20+ people and it is spread over 4 days. I am in charge of buying the wine. We need some Champagne, Sauterne, rose, rouge and blanc.

So some questions.
Do French wine stores ship to home addresses-if so, which stores/online shops are the best?

I am thinking I can taste some wines I am interested in while I am in the US the next couple of weeks-so can I buy direct from the winery and have them ship to the home address?

Does anyone know of a good wine store in that area?

If I placed a large order from a wine shop/online store can I get the VAT back?

Are there other methods I should explore?

Yes they will. Which wines are looking for?

Some will, some won't. It is more difficult with DRC and Roumier than with domaine des 3 feuilles in Marcillac.

Probus in Brive : http://www.probus.fr/

Not from the store. And not if you drink the wines in France.

Eric,

Thanks for the info. Still in Oz until Sat so will be looking at tasting some
wines when I get back to the US. It wlll mainly be an Aussie and Brit crowd so
will likely have to go for more robust wine than I am used to drinking.

Just wanted to follow up-belatedly.

We had lunch at a wonderful restaurant-Le Vieux Logis-in the very small town of Tremolat on the Dordogne upriver 30 mins from Sarlat-the tapas lunch was outstanding value-the cost for two of us was less than we would pay for one in Sydney-and the food was much better. Another couple at lunch recco a wine shop up the road at le Bugue called Julien de Savignac-it is a wonderful shop and I spent nearly 1000 euros-thankfully our luggage was lost and I had the entire car available for wine. They bottle their own Monbazillac-Cuvee Amelie and the 08 was superb-in fact we had 2-3 other 08 Monbzillac's and they were all very good. If anyone is vacationing in the Sarlat area I highly recommend lunch at Le Vieux Logis.
