Merely speechless, I am. Used up my expletive allocation for the day.
Being a disorderly means never having to say anything.
Best, Jim

Dammit. I clearly have no clue.

See. I did it again. Dammit.

Thanks Jeff. That clears up the difference between the regular & Reserve.

My computer is on the fritz & I can't post pictures. Of the two regular bottles that I have, one has a "normal" label w/ the big gold "H" on a white background. The second has a label w/ nothing but text. It looks very similar to the back label on the normal bottle. One was purchased from Chambers, one from Rare Wine Co. I don't remember which came from which source.

Oh, and by the way, for those keeping score at home, an '02 first release petillant consumed last night was lovely and the most open bottle I've tried.

Well, I wouldn't necessarily say it's more open than it was back on release but it's night and day compared to how it was showing a year ago.

BTW - did the Reserve ever show up in the US? I never saw it.

This is all too sordid for me.

And how Huet wound up doing what they did with the importers is pretty baffling. Which is nothing compared with the Hungarian fiasco.

But whatever the labels, Mr. Pinguet knows his craft. I'm delighted the reintroduction of releasing aged Pétillant I long hoped for has come about. The idea was and I would suppose is to push the quality level as far as possible. In that case the 2002 would be just a start on good times to follow.

Yes

thanks for not telling me to use the search function :)

any idea where it might still be available or did it just come and go too quickly for my enfeebled perceptions to notice?

I got mine from Rare Wine. They don't have anymore listed in their inventory, & I don't see anything on Wine Searcher. Sometimes, w/ Rare Wine Co. if you call them they will know if they are going to have more available or not.....

The complicating factor is the 2nd release. I suspect an intermediate disgorgement.

Not sure if this is what you mean, but I bought both first and second 02 petillant releases, and the label looked the same, iirc.

Like Jay, I missed the reserve release; surprising after all the build-up over it here. Probably just as well.
