Spiral Wine Cellar!

$30/bottle seems like pretty high capex for storage.

Those things have always seemed very space-inefficient to me. So much stair, so little wine.

I do very much like the idea of active circulation through the ground.

I urged this on a friend years ago, but he didn't bite.

The whole thing makes me think me seriously about a house on the ground. And we could get a dog too.

Living in flyover country certainly has its drawbacks, but being able to buy a Victorian home with an intact coal cellar ready for conversion to a passively cooled wine cellar wasn't one of them.
