NYC visit 5/24

Nothing like advanced warning, is there? My long-anticipated deposition is finally coming to pass, so I'll be back in the Big Apple next Tuesday verbally jousting with lawyers. I anticipate being in need of serious libation after it's all over with, so will probably be heading out for dinner and wine afterward. I won't be going out any earlier than 7:00 and, depending on how long the proceedings go, maybe later. Anyone who's interested in passing the time with an exhausted and thirsty academic are welcome to join me.

Nice to see you coming back to Nyc so often!

This one I should be able to make. Will confirm later tonight when the other half of my schedule gets home.

Ok, I'm in.

Thanks for all of the responses! So far, the roster looks like:

Cliff
Brad
Salil
Jeff
maybe Jay
(Bryan? Can't tell from your response)
Rahsaan

As for the location, I'll be staying this time at the Sheraton on 53rd and 7th Ave, so both the Midtown PDH and Il Corso would be most convenient. I won't be bringing any wine with me, but I can always pick up something interesting at CSW (or Crush if I'm pressed for time) if it's BYO, or I can order something off the list.

Has anyone been to La Sirene? I haven't but have read great things. It's also free BYO.
There's a search engine here, you know. I found 4 threads on the subject. Maybe you can find more!

The "anyone" was directed at those who said they would be up for dinner. I was not looking for general comments on the restaurant by past posters. Regardless, I appreciate you pointing out the obvious. Search engines can be tricky sometimes...

La Sirene has fantastic cassoulet, most of the other food is less interesting and it can be noisy and cramped, esp. for a large group. But they're really nice there and the cassoulet is really good.

So, I booked Il Corso, 54 West 55th St. (between 5th and 6th aves.) for 7:00 pm.

Jeff, are you in, or were you just giving a restaurant suggestion? Jay, I know you'll let me know tomorrow, so that leaves you, Joe. You in, or Joey regrets?
