TN: '01 Overnoy Savagnin

Showing some progress in its color. Cheese, cream, butter, nuts on the nose. Round palate with less acidity than I anticipated but really pleasant preserved lemon and fresh citrus notes. Finish is long.

I wasn't sure what to expect. What has been your experience?

i'm not giving up on overnoy.
Was the wax yellow or gold?

trying to find out what bottling you drank. It's always tricky as they release cuvees at very different times. Some early, some late. Very different wines, but always the same label/wax (very few exceptions..)

I've given up on Overnoy since about the time I stopped finding them retail.
Hopefully Ganevant will pay dividends.

Hmm. Not sure. Label doesn't seem to provide any info on that either.

who's name is on the label? only pierre's and manu = early bottling, pierre manu aurelien adeline = late bottling.

I love Ganevat. Opened an '03 La Combe (Savagnin)

Every time I say that, I am asked "which one?"

And I am still unable to answer that question to satisfaction

thanks!
that would be the ouille.
As to what that means - I've made an appointment with SFJoe to explain, he has an opening sometime in June.
But I suspect that's the one that spends a couple of centuries in topped up barrels.
