Brian C opened a lovely '99 Puffeney
Cuvee Sacha Thursday night. We sat outside at sunset
and watched the clouds change colors. Well, from grey to black mostly,
but it was OK. This wine only hinted at oxidation, and was quite smokey
at first, toasted nuts. The palate was so fresh and lovely, it seemed
very much a young wine. With air there was hints of curry spices.
Really very special I thought. It had us dreaming of some morel dishes, but it was
tasty with the cheeses we were munching.
