2007 François Chidaine- Vouvray Sec Clos Baudoin
Bright and aromatic on the nose with lots of yellow and white. It's bone dry and big boned on the palate. I'd prefer a little more residual sugar to help balance out the stout structure. Pleasant quince, grapefruit pith, white flowers and dusty white gravel flavors in a very taut package. Solid B+.

My feeling was that this leaned more to the side of sec-tendre, but neither of us had the RS data to argue the point. Regardless, it was a lovely bottle of Chenin which, in contrast to the '08s, might lack a little in definition.

Fwiw, Chidaine calls the Baudoin a Sec on his website. No stats on his website any longer for the '07, but, as a comparison, the '08 has 5.5 g/l.

Chris Kissack, on his website, winedoctor.com, does list the '07 rs at 2.7 g/l. Not really close to being sec-tendre.

Nope, not up on Chidaine's site yet. You quoted me before I cited Chris Kissack on the '07. He doesn't have a stat for the rs on the '09, but called it "very dry" and suggested it is much more about mineral than fruit. He did mention the '09 Les Argilles has 5 g/l.

Btw, here's a link to his section on Chidaine: Wine Doctor- Chidaine.
