Best food(s) with Riesling??

It is a given that Riesling is food friendly.

Taking it a step further, to the extent a generality can be made, which foods or dishes might be most suitable with Riesling?

it's more like what doesn't go with riesling.

roast turkey or ham. asian dishes. many cheeses. roast pork or veal.

the list is endless and can be broken down by the sweetness level of the wine.

sashimi with sparling reisling can be stunning.

I normally think mostly of Zins with tomatoes. I'll have to think about Rieslings.

Escoffier followers might fuss about even a Riesling with soup but I can visualize this working.

Good suggestions thus far -- birds, veal, pork -- and the idea of Asian dishes is appealing.

P.S. Raw is not an option!!

If raw isn't an option, forget about the tomatoes. My wine geek friends and I have done the tomato/Riesling (German, Kab and Spat) match. It's brilliant.

Larry, I perhaps should have been more precise. I was not referring to raw vegetables when I said raw is not an option.

The idea of tomatoes with Riesling is interesting.

Speaking of how well German pairings will of course go with Riesling, I had real white asparagus (read: shipped in from Germany) the other night with perhaps the best wienerschnitzel I have ever had and I paired the course with a Cote du Rhone. It worked fine, but in retrospect, I wish I had thought of Riesling as I believe it would have been a compelling match up.
