Any opinions as to whether a 03 Bea Sagrantino or an 06 San Valentino would be drinking better at this point?
 
either. 03 bea sagrantino is becoming approachable more quickly due to the vintage, but it is delicious. similarly, the 06 san valentino is drinking wonderfully now, but it is a bit less complex and lighter on its feet.
 
Another vote for 06 SV drinking well; brought this to a small group of people who had not known Bea and it won the Hoover award among some wines they brought because they liked them. Fascinating stuff.
 
Brian brought the '06 to a tasting Tuesday and I thought it was great.
The aromas did open up and become much more interesting about an hour after it was opened. It is also quite a tannic and structured wine right now.
 
It was really on the fringe from the rest of the wines at the central Italy tasting, in a good way. Thanks for the recs.
