PSA: Amphibolite

slaton

Slaton Lipscomb
The 2010 edition recently landed out west and it's sporting a modest improvement over past vintages: screwcap instead of the usual fakecork.

Popped and poured straight from the ice box it is pretty much 11.5 degrees of drink-your-body-weight goodness. Just a pure mineral and white fruit tonic straight to the dome.

I plan to drink lots of it this summer.

This is where it's at. I've already worked through several bottles of the Amphibolite and Atmospheres.

That is tough work.

Seriously, this post makes me thirsty.

Drank the '09 Fief du Breil this week. Worked very well with grilled spot prawns.
Not exactly a rich wine at 12.5%, but it has a little bit of the warmer year character to it. The aromas were amazing for the first glass, and then it started to tighten up.

Great tn's. I still have yet to try the Amphibolite, but have wanted to....it doesn't seem to ever be stocked locally. The Atmospheres is though, and I think it's one of the better raw oyster pairing wines I've had...and with seafood in general.

This remains delicious and I continue to endorse the mass enjoyment of this delightful Muscadet. By 'mass enjoyment' I refer to volume of individual consumption, by the by.
Best, John
