Mme L had her 50th birthday party a couple weeks ago, and in my excitement I bought a 2010 10litre Tete Beaujolais Village BIB. I had images of decanting it into earthenware pitchers and pouring it in high revelry, but somehow at the party the BIB box just sat untouched on the countertop next to the mags of Champagne.
So here we are two weeks later greatly enjoying this fine drink. It's a bit unusual - with a somewhat meaty edge (not Morgon meat, but some other meat) - but with all the classic fixin's in a balanced package. This is my first 2010 and we are off to an auspicious start. The bib was opened two weeks ago and the wine seems to have fallen off ever so slightly, but that might just be imagination. The wine does pack it in with air in glass.
The best deal per litre in Beaujolais I believe I've ever experienced.
