Any time.
It was a damn fine drink. Just had a little bit tonight. Day 2 finds it a little more calm; the acid isn't as searing as it was last night. But still long. Man, it seems to go on forever. And complex as hell. Little bit left to see where it goes tomorrow.
Thanks for bringing over the '07 Allemand Chaillot. Had the little bit I saved tonight as well. Also seemed to have calmed down and opened up a bit. That Thierry's a smooth talker.
All in all it was a pretty damn good day for drinking, besides the fact that it was hot and humid as hell. I have to say the for pure pleasure my favorite of the day was the sparkling Ploussard petillant naturel de raisin 'On Zoue?' from Evelyne and Pascal Clairet (Tournelle). Wow, did that just hit the spot. Especially on a hot day. That bit of sugar (20 grams according to the back label) just made it. Little bit sweet, little bit funky and whole lot of summertime in a bottle. Went darn well with some pork confit pate. And this is not to mention the 2007 Goisot Fie Gris Corps de Garde Saint-Bris. My first time with this wine and producer and hopefully not the last. God, really really nice stuff. Thanks to Fillay for bringing these two over.
