Bindernagel at the end of the Storm

We opened a bottle of the Délire des Lyres cremant, Domaine Le Chais du Vieux Bourg/Bindernagel last night as the beginning of a mini-celebration for being spared any appreciable Irene-related damage. What a lovely lovely wine; beguiling balance of open, generous fruit and mineral depth, with a lithe acid backbone. Great freshness and lift. 100% pinot i think i recall Sophie at CSW saying; the label says "2007" but it is legally NV, so I guess, Bouchard like, it comes from 2007 fruit but can't be legally declared a vintage wine. Marked as 12.1% abv. The assembled were already in a good mood, but this improved things even further; grins and smiles all around. The bottle's contents disappeared in a flash.

It's all about set and setting, you know.
We have a number of varities that have cropped up, including some that resemble Chanterelles. I'm not that adventurous to try them.
