Hello,
We made a very nice dinner at the tgjp in Paris last friday with Morgon 2009 Corcelette, Charmes & Cote du Py (Foillard, Bouland, Desvignes, Burgaud & Jambon).

Nice work. But are you similarly down on recent Chidaine vintages? 2005 was very big from what I remember, but the recent vintages seem more in shape.

Chidaine?
PAB has not been a fan for 5-6 years, if i recall. A non- believer. What might your question have to do with Beaujolais?
 
The only 2009 Beaujolais on my current dance card is the Brun L'Ancien. There must be others, but I have put the rest in the cellar for the duration.

If you read the notes for their dinner, they started with an 05 Chidaine Baudoin that got negative reviews.

Just had my last bottle of this recently and it was lovely. Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to the arrival of the '10s while awaiting my '09s (and '05s) to awaken.

I enjoyed my second try of 09 Foillard Corcelette tonight far more than than my first about 6 months ago. More precise, coherent and for lack of a better word, typical this time. 09 or whatever it was a joy to drink.

Hello,
Burgaud's wine showed a little bit dryeness. I don't know if the time can make something... About Desvignes, it was very nice but not as beautifull as Foillard.

Hello,
I know there is a lot of Chidaine's fan on this board (a Dressner import ?) but imho this estate belong to the past. I drank this summer different bottles of 07 & 08 and they were under the radar. In the last year of the 90 (10 ha), Chidaine was an emergent estate. Now (more than 37 ha + 2 ha in Spain), it's a nice but not top gun estate in a large area of pity wine from Montlouis and Vouvray. Stéphane Cossais (RIP) showed the way and now Frantz Saumon seem to be the new kid on the block.

Yep, my last bottle said Beaune Imports on it. It was a bit of a surprise to see that actually.

It is hard for me to believe someone could try the 2008s (Montlouis Clos Habert!) from Chidaine and not love them. For me they are magnificent wines, full of dry extract, complex aromas and flavors. They are vivid wines and much better in balance for my taste then the 2005s were. I liked those too, but have an easier time understand others not liking the 05s as much.
 
To my tastes, Lapierre's '09 has already settled down and is past whatever it started out as several months ago. Balanced and very lovely now. A very different wine than what it was last November.
