Houston Wine Invitational

A little too far to travel. About the only saving grace is that they are not holding it during Houston's 'glorious' Summers.

Pete,
With all due respect, if I want to learn something about Oregon wines, I think that I'll travel to Oregon to do that. Call me old fashioned if you will... For those in Houston, it does sound like an interesting event, though I'd probably go mostly for the wines of Hamacher and maybe Evening Lands. I've never met Karen McNeil, so she might be just fine as an educator -- I dunno. Anyway, good luck with the event, and I hope that it's lots of fun and informative for those who attend.

Kirk, What is a "fb-lead session"?

. . . . . . Pete

Perhaps if my spelling weren't so piss-poor, this would have been clearer. "fb-led" is how that should have been written.

I would add Adelsheim's been on a roll lately (nice Auxerrois too, if you ever run across it); I've always been a fan of Sokol Blosser's Evolution blend; Trisaetum is an impressive newcomer; and the last Bergstrom I had was superb (granted, it was the Cumberland Reserve).

There's nothing special or unusual about it, but I've always counted King Estate PG as one of those "safety net" wines you're relieved to see on the mediocre wine list in the middle of nowhere.

Kirk, I have run through my mind a few wine phrases but none I can think of match up with "fb"...
