it's been a very dry late summer/early fall, but i found one. . .

the first porcini of fall. it was just barely emerging between the roots of a stump. not a single bug/nematode. it was perfect.

Just got these Oyster Mushrooms up near Occidental. Surprised to be seeing these in the drier months too, but they've appeared here and there all year...

Porcinis in this weather are an incredible find!
 
Man, I would love to go hunting with you folks! Took a walk in the Finger Lakes today and mushrooms are sprouting up all over due to the recent rain and summer-like warmth we've been experiencing. Saw about 20 kinds of fungi, but damned if I know what was edible or not!
