2006 Faiveley Myglands 13.0%

Oswaldo Costa
Last night, a half bottle of this unsung but well-distributed monopole was just what the MD ordered. Shiny acidity, unfawning but lapidated fruit, light and clear, unfolding its wares slowly, like a new visitor with self-esteem. A welcome anthithesis to opulence, woodiness and pointiness. Not the bee's knees, but pleasing to both the amygdala and my glands.

I have found almost all of Faiveley's Côte Chalonnaise wines to be similarly limpid, quaffable, and well-priced. I include both the whites and reds in this, but I have to say that most of my experience is at the premier cru level.

Like you said Oswaldo, not revelations, but entirely competent and unspoofy. My spoof thresholds are my own, of course...

I had a 2006 Roty Bourgogne (Cuvee de Pressonnier) at a restaurant Saturday also 13% that hit the spot but perhaps at the end felt a wee bit too heavily alcoholic for my taste. But the restaurant markup got it to the midcentury mark which somehow seemed a tad high.

Myglands is your glands, Myglands is my glands
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
Myglands was made for you and me

While foraging for laundry detergent and snacks, I found the 2009 Myglands tonight at, of all places, Costco. I had to buy one, and a couple of bottles of Chimay Blue, on principle.

And you did so,so well with your tn's, O.

Would any familiar with it describe the '08 as a fairly typical example of Myglands?
I tried it a few months back and found it rather extracted and confectionary. I didn't care for it at all.

I had a similar experience recently with the '06 Combes aux Moines (although to a lesser degree), so it may just be that the house style isn't for me.
