Not nervous at all

...in fact, so confident that I popped an American sparkling wine, rather than the canadian whiskey I had on deck.

It's the Scharrfenberger NV Brut. Pretty tasty for $16 bubbly. Really solid fundamentals, if you had to ping it, it would be a for a lack of character. But for $16 domestic bubbly, you can't really ask for character...what do you think this is, Muscadet?

Go O!

I have a Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs waiting for the speeches.

I like that stuff! I have a friend who stocks it as their house sparkler.

I like their Brut Rose. Does that make me a pinko whatchamacallit?

Oh, you're a well-known REDwings fan. Need I say any fucking more?

My childhood home has gone blue.

Not by the big margins some polls might have suggested, but it'll do.

People in my building and the building across the way are screaming their heads off out into the night. It's pretty surreal.

A cheer arose in my neighborhood.

Not sure who these people are, but it's a nice feeling, living as I do in the redneck section of Malibu.

Let a thousand flowers bloom!

Chateau d' Oupia 2006 is clearly the winner for me tonight. I grabbed this at the spur of the moment to watch the election results and it did not disappoint. I very nice wine to witness the changing of the guard!

I went with the fivethirtyeight.com rec of '05 Pian del Ciampolo. It rocks!!!

Hey, how did it miss that on the site? Shit, I must've been too focused on the various scenarios and histogram of outcomes. For the record, we entered the night with an 2006 Movia Ribolla (eh), moved on to a 2001 Ridge Pagani Ranch (yeah!) and got down to the business of waiting for the Wagnerian soprano to warble with a bottle of 2004 Scott Harvey Zinfandel (sir, you are no Ridge). Some guests showed up with some Rodney Strong wines, so I switched to mineral water in time to see California close its polls. It's done, it's over, let's just hope to hell that no wacko with a gun gets to him.

(You were wise to not enter the bet; the Monkey and I may not know until tomorrow who won)

The Left Coast put Barack over the top!

I'm thinking Doghead must be happy tonight.

We're drinking 2002 Maryhill Reserve Zinfandel made from grapes from the Columbia River Gorge, between WA and OR. Good stuff.

Proud to be American drinking Northwest wine!

Caught between wrangling the kids, salvaging the dinner Mary "prepped", and trying to keep an eye on the big map, the best I could do is slurp up some day old, cheap (Huber) Gruner -- it became amazingly delicious. I'll try something more celebratory tomorrow...

Imagine that the whole IMPEACH NOW thing once seemed sort of out there, in the fringe.

I really hope Robert is happy tonight.

I responded to the wrong damn thread earlier. Oh well, my Champagne still tastes fabulous. Michel Arnould Rose Grand Cru still inspiring.

I hope we've learned something from this election.

In 2016, remember, the VLM for philosopher king.

No rednecks. Actually no vote for anyone with a substandard IQ.

Pepiere and Baudry for all!!!
