Wine pourer/stopper rec??

What might be the recommended basic wine pourer/stopper that fits into the wine bottle like a cork? Preferably one that will fit all (most?) 750s.

Actually, I can do without the stopper capability. Just the cork-type pourer would suffice.

Thanks!

You just looking to stop drips, Pete? If so, those circular foils that go into wine bottles do work quite well.

Mark, Yes! I'm tired of messing with the circular foils. They lose their rigidity and/or become crinkled so that they start leaking.

I'm looking for something more permanent and reliable.

There are quite a few options with mixed reviews.

Chaad, Thanks!

I went to buy some but they require a minimum purchase of $89!?!?!?!

Googling doesn't find any other vendors.

Any ideas as to where buy a nominal amount?

Pete,

Try www.barsupplies.com

Also, check out the Haley's Corker on the same site. I've seen several ITB folk over the years using those, and they have the benefit of being less tall than the Tully (or FlopTop), which might be helpful if you're sticking them in a refrigerator or bag.

I found a big discount on the Haley's Corker.

Peter,

Where did you get the Haley's? I'd like to pick up several, but had been hesitating due to cost.

Chaad, There was an offer on ebay where I got them for $4 apiece with free shipping but I believe I may have exhausted their supply of this offering...

Otherwise, offerings on eBay...

I believe amazon.com (among others) also has them.

Good luck!

These are great for restricting pour speed, and I use them for tastings because they really slow the flow, and force people to think about how much they're pouring, which reduce serving size. However, those same qualities make them unsuitable for home use for me, or even sales call use, really, although I've definitely had those clients whose pours I wish I had restricted!

They are the lowest profile pourers out there, though, which allows them to fit in standard height consumer wine totes.
