2004 Radikon Jakot Venezia Giulia IGT 13.5%

No giving thanks down here, so we apostate ingrates went for some skin.

Golden orange. Vibrant apricot and dry leaf aromas and lovely orange peel flavor. Gobs of acidity and a fine skein of tannin add weight and texture. Not oxidative. The three month skin infusion and frequent racking inoculated the body; it became hardy, muscular, with fine definition.

Tried this wine, the 2005 Ribolla and the Pinot Grigio side by side at an orange wine cabal at my place last week....the Jakot probably the pick of the bunch for me....lovely energy and fine sweet tannin.
