Orange goes tabloid

Funny they would say Convivio and not Levi. Winced at 'white wines for red wine lovers,' though that might be an effective hook for the "I don't like white wine" crowd.

Convivio is a very difficult reservation to score these days. Harder than finding an Orange wine on a list back in 2007.

could you describe an easy process more awkwardly than "Where rosé wines are made from red grapes with skins removed, orange wines are essentially made by reversing the process."?

Who the hell is making orange wine in New Zeland?

Also, I like how Vinho Verde is a "green wine".

Mike Weersing from Pyramid Valley....just near Waikari, inland from Waipara on the South Island.

He's a super cat...his property is about 5km from my parents farm in NZ...I usually whip around there for dinner or lunch whenever I'm home. He's making some brilliant wines....

Some other interesting antipodeans....Shobbrook wines from the Barossa. I had Tom around to my place last weekend for an orange wine cabal and he dragged around two of his own....

2011 Giallo which is a Sauvignon Blanc (fruit from the Adelaide Hills) which sees 6 weeks skin contact and a yet to be released #1 Il Fiore...similar beast but aged sur voile...the fruit is from the 2011 vintage but the #1 refers to the first cask of a solera which he will build on.

Another is Dandy in the Clos. Hunter Valley is the source for their fruit....the " Birds no Boundaries" is a blend of Chardonnay and Verdelho, co-fermented on whole berry Gewurtztraminer....plenty skin contact...plenty good.

Was just doing some Xmas shopping online, and got served up the following ad from Google AdSense:

Shop for Orange Wine online

which linked to http://target.com

You heard it here first.
