Bar Bambino?

I've eaten very well at Bar Bambino, and the current menu looks very tempting. They've bothered to make Tyrolean dumplings, which are a good thing when it's raining...

They're a customer, so I may be biased.

That certainly accounts for many of those interesting wines they sell, Oliver. Thanks for the input!

For whatever reason I tend to end up at Flour+Water or Delfina, or of course La Ciccia instead of Bar Bambino. I don't think I've been since the first month they opened. From perusing the menu I should revisit.

Does your inquiry speak of an impending visit, Dr. Lipton?

Thanks for the data, Slaton. Nay, no plans for an immediate return, sad to say. We'll be decamping for the Southern Hemisphere soon, so no travel to the Bay Area until the Summer at earliest. Will give you a heads up when it does happen, though. I've got wine waiting for me in Alameda and my mother's basement.

I've enjoyed their food a few times, but no clue on their wine list. I haven't eaten there in a little over a year, too. From what I've heard they've really been focusing more on the Tyrolean thing. Everything I've had there that was braised (oxtails, rabbit ragu, etc) was excellent.

I've only eaten at La Ciccia once, but I don't feel that Bar Bambino suffers much in comparison. Still need to try Cotogna; it has a pretty hot rep for casual Italian food.

Based on one lunch only, back in the summer, I think Cotagna is excellent. Smart service, superb ingredients and sensible, delicious preparations. Having Quince's wine list available is a nice plus. Going back next week for a 2d visit. I'll try to report back.

It's Cotogna, in case anyone is trying to Google it. Hear very good things, which doesn't surprise me given that I hate formal restaurants but was poleaxed by Quince. Great wine programs, of course, David Lynch knows what he's doing. Haven't been there yet, we had a second child three months ago and haven't eaten out since...

Belated congratulations, Oliver!

Thanks, Mark. The sleep deprivation is terrible, but she's recently started smiling, so you don't care so much.
