To quote the Chairman of the Board, "From fine old kegs, from the brim to the dregs and it poured sweet and clear, it was a very good year."

VS too

Sounds like a '47 Jeebus is in order for 2012. Retirement jeebus!
Retirement?
Steve, VS and me?
I think only Parker is a candidate and that wouldn't be much of a party.
Best, Jim

Opened tonight. Dark brown color, lifted nose but quite alive -- this much sugar has the power to preserve a Pharoah -- simple palate of brown sugar with a very long finish. Reminiscent of oloroso though not so tangy.

Was this Keo ?
Yes.

I forget which vintage I owned and consumed with great pleasure, it was definitely from the 20s, possibly the 23 or 27, need to double check. But it was similar but more vibrant than what you describe, made me think of tokaj essencia.

Despite this bottle's pristine appearance the owner said that she simply - and without a trace of irony - found it in her cellar. She denies having bought it. She denies having received it as a gift. She claims it may have been left there by the previous inhabitants (...yet it took her over a decade to find it?). This bespeaks an uncertain, if not magical, provenance.
