No Carignane in CdP, indeed, unless there is some other grape name it goes by. One of the issues with the 13 CdP varieties is that there are fourteen or fifteen, depending on whether you count certain varieties as two different ones or not. But I think carignane is not one.

This site:

has lots of useful information, including AOC rules of the kind we get into here for Southern Rhone appelations.

The site has lots of information and therefore some errors (for places I have visited, I have caught them in some)plus the misinformation about history that one can pick up. But most of it that I can confirm is very reliable.

For CdP varieties, among a few scazillion other places, you could go to Wiki.

www.guildsomm.com keeps detailed records for all AOPs, sourced directly from the INAO and lists the following for Gigondas:

"Encépagement: Min. 90% combined Grenache (min. 50%), Syrah, and Mourvèdre (min. 15% Syrah and Mourvèdre); plus Bourboulenc, Brun Argentè, Cinsault, Clairette, Clairette Rosé, Counoise, Grenache Blanc and Gris, Marsanne, Muscardin, Piquepoul Blanc and Noir, Roussanne, Terret Noir, Ugni Blanc, Viognier

Min. 50% Grenache is mandatory from 2014 harvest forward

Min. 15% Syrah and Mourvèdre is mandatory from 2014 harvest forward"
