'92 "Elliott Vineyard" Cabernet - Mystery Wine

Does anyone know anything about this? Some determined googling has turned up next to nothing besides:

1. The label is still produced - but seemingly no contact information to be had for them.
2. '92 was the inaugural vintage.

In my new job, we picked up a private cellar with a whole case of it.

It's pretty good - 12.8% alcohol, holding together well, very red-fruited, varietally correct, and lightly oaked. It's solid, even if it's a little on the wan side compared to the '92 Montelenas and Grgiches which cames out of the same cellar - but also still quite good.

Apologies for the sideways picture, but no time to rotate at the moment.

Steve, do you have any insight on this? Or any lurking Cali buffs?

A couple of pages into google there's a mention of an Elliott Vineyard that leads to a street address in Napa. A look at this address on Zillow.com shows an adjacent vineyard. There's also a reference to Merlot sourced from Hardman Lane, which is a little further north but still relatively in the neighborhood and thus a likely source of additional fruit (I mean, why go to Calistoga for Merlot if you can get it down the road?)

Further research leads to mention of a winemaker named Michael Elliott, and that takes us here, where you can find an email address to contact Mike directly.

It would appear that 1992 was the first vintage. Production is minuscule but sincere. Given Elliott's day gig, it's highly unlikely he uses powdered tannins, but it might be interesting to see how use of a bi bung affects the finished wine.
