Yes. Gorgeous wine. But strangely closes up in just under an hour. I would not have expected that, given some secondary evolution. If you have more than one, I'd say try. But keep in mind, this was a very difficult period at the estate.

Thanks. I only have two, so I'll probably wait as I don't typically guzzle things down within the hour. But nice that it is slowly overcoming the limitations of its era.

there are unconfirmed reports of the winemaker consuming unnatural quantities of this wine within the past year.

but he may be trying to cover up the evidence

Some evidence here that Mr. Lynch had something similar foist upon him back when he was working with Chalone.

-Eden (when a wine is that good, it doesn't much matter that the impressario's name is larger on the label than the producer's)

I had that wine two Januarys ago, and it indeed had such a neck label.

I like the standard Premier Cru label for Rhones, which say "Rhone desert wine" on the label. As one of my old co-workers would say "got dat right!"
