too bad for this pepiere

Likewise. Smelled a bit beer-y and fermentative when the cork was first pulled, but this blew off quickly.

My single experience:

2007 Domaine de la Ppire (Marc Ollivier) Muscadet de Svre-et-Maine Sur Lie Clos des Briords, Cuve Vieilles Vignes - France, Loire Valley, Pays Nantais, Muscadet de Svre-et-Maine (8/28/2008)

A good but not great Briords. But of course a good Briords is a very good thing indeed. Dry, lots of minerals, a relatively round style but still quite penetrating. Less salinity and a touch less intensity than the best vintages. Will buy a few but not a case..

In my paltry experience, this wine LOVES the cellar.

I would bet that in a couple of years the scoffers will change their minds.

My single bottle so far says it ain't so.
Oh, well then.

What's it worth to ya, tough guy? I'll take that bet.

Huh?? I thought that Cliff was taking the same position as you, Joe.
Oh.

Does that mean we can't fight?

I'm up for a fight, sure! You bring the Ppire. But seriously, I agree. It was nice and sour and briny and good.

I just had a bottle and thought it was first rate!

Disclosure: I work for a firm which imports the Muscadets of Pierre Luneau-Papin.

OK, it's been two days now, and it did not change. I think this was a fake bottle.

But the consensus says that I should try another one (the 05 was great indeed).

i've gotten that kind of nose from domaine de l'Ecu before...not exactly a turn on

I had a 2007 Isabel Sauvignon Blanc this weekend that smelled like bad canned asparagus (aka vegitarian puke) - and tasted like it too. Screwcapped. Wonder if there is a conspiracy brewing here...

The first rule of counterfeiting is -- don't bother making one dollar bills.

Wouldn't one's time be better spent faking Ptrus? Photocopy the label, fill with Zinfandel, and send it off to Singapore to be mixed with Pepsi and served on the rocks.
