Just trying to scare you

I've been told by several sources that 96s aren't in good shape, oxidation wise.
I had some problems about 6-7 years ago, but recently have had no problem. Producers with whom I spoke about the matter in Germany agreed with me that the wines had gone through a bad phase that they are now coming out of.

This one was oxidized to hell and back. I don't think it's a sign of a bigger issue by the way, just having a little fun with the title. I opened a bottle of 1996 Muller-Catoir Haardter Herzog Riesling Spatlese a couple of months ago that was mindblowinglyextraordinarily* good. 2 years ago the same wine was completely weird and nearly undrinkable.

*thread about German wine automatically allows creation of bizarre compound words

If it was a 'bad phase', it wasn't really oxidation.
Agree completely. As is the case with many a white Burgundy (but alas, not all) that people write of to the white Burgundy problem.
