Oswaldo Costa
Le nez: discreet aromas of plum and rubber, with a slight red flower suspicion, like pot-pourri on its last legs.
La bouche: excellent acidity that, before food, overwhelms the delicate fruit. Good density, pleasingly astringent tannins, relatively hollow mid-palate and finish on the short side. Olives at the back of the mouth. Alcohol wonderfully civilized and no taste of wood. Over time, with food, reached cruising altitude; fruit became balanced with acidity, and everything fell into place.
Le Gestalt: over time, alcohol attenuates ambivalence generated by critical faculties and one realizes that one is seldom happier than when one doesn't judge. Like in many a happy ending, uncritical pleasure reigned supreme. By the last glass I was in bliss, and the last drop almost generated another.
