It is, in most parts of life (even though I realize you may have been only mock serious here).

Kahnemann's book "Fast thinking, slow thinking" is a wonderful read about various aspects of this.

There's fraud involved??? Sounds like plain ol' theft to me, but WTF do I know? My education in the finer points of Canadian criminal code was sorely deficient.
